Headline acts
This year’s concert is headlined by acclaimed WA indie rockers and Triple J favourites Tired Lion and includes a mixed bag of WAM Award-winning Perth talent including Felicity Groom, Rick Steele Band, Spacey Jane and a very special welcome to country performed by Whudjuk traditional owner Matthew McGuire.
Pop up bar and food stalls
If there’s one thing North Perth does well it’s offering delightful food and drink in the sunshine and local watering hole Rosemount Hotel have been enlisted to operate a pop up bar throughout the day in addition to food stalls from Pash Frozen Yoghurt, Jumplings, The Place Tex-Mex food truck and Coffee Crusader. Of course a day in the park is nothing without a snag and sauce and our friends at North Perth Primary P & C will be ably staffing the grill.
Family activities
Given that North Perth is jam-packed with cute-as-a-button young families, 6006 In The Park is paying special attention to pint-sized residents. A bouncy castle, a baby animal farm and TWO face painters will all be on hand for maximum little person enjoyment. Doggos – who are already very familiar with this grassy venue – are also welcome.
Chair of North Perth Local Ida Smithwick said “North Perth Local hopes this free, fun family event with a strong focus on children-friendly activities and a line-up of talented, local artists will engage our residents and continue to foster a sense of identity and pride in our City of Vincent”.
Community groups
And like all good neighbourhood parties it’s important to include the neighbours – throughout the afternoon the North Perth Community Garden and Vincent Men’s Shed will fling open their doors for an Open Day from 4-6pm. What a busy day on the block! See you there neighbour!
