After 6 successful years leading up to 2015, North Perth Local’s renowned Angove Street Festival was retired to make room for a number of exciting new smaller events. Held throughout the year, a wider range and greater variety of events will ensure the entire local community can be included to celebrate the unique culture of what North Perth has to offer.

Time for a different approach

North Perth Local Chairperson Ida Smithwick says it’s now time to try something different. “Angove Street Festival put us on the map and showcased the diverse richness and culture of what the North Perth community has to offer,” says Mrs Smithwick. “The Festival was run by a small group of passionate and dedicated local business and resident volunteers and because of this, the vast scale of Angove Street Festival means that we need a well-earned break, but we will continue to deliver a number of smaller, community based events throughout each year.”

Since the last Angove Street festival, North Perth Local introduced a series of Car Boot Sales in the North Perth Plaza car park, a summer concert 6006 in the Park, held for the first time in 2016 with headline act Alex Lloyd, and a number of small laneway events.

On Tuesday 31st October 2017, Angove street will host its first family-focussed Halloween event from 4.30pm to 8.00pm.  6006 in the Park, held in Woodville Park, will return in January 2018 when the weather is ideal for this popular outdoor event.

North Perth residents and businesses who would like to see more free events in our precinct are urged to join North Perth local to contribute to planning these fun local events.
