Jim Howe

BUSINESS CHAMPION

Jim Howe has been working hard on Angove Street for almost 70 years.

He began work aged 14 at Cyril Collins bicycle shop ‘Pal and Panther’ at 30 Angove Street in 1952 . Pal and Panther was one of the longest running businesses in North Perth operating from 1929 to 2015 and Jim was like a son to Cyril.  He bought the business from Cyril Collins in 1980 and expanded it to include sales and servicing of motorcycles and lawnmowers.

In 2004, Jim’s son Craig and daughter-in-law Karen branched off and started their own business, ‘Motorcycle Pit Stop’ at 29 Angove Street.  Today, Jim keeps active working in one of the most enduring family businesses in North Perth.
